More
than 20 years of management and supervisory experience in operations. Extensive
operations planning knowledge, logistics, and project management experience.
Extensive background and skills in programming and analysis, training development,
technical writing and desktop publication, organizational development,
problem solving, supervisory decision making, Total Quality (TQ) development
and applications, systems analysis, and computer software applications.
Taught college courses in management, marketing, international business
and trade. Reg/Lic: insurance, real estate, securities, NASD Arbitrator,
and commercial flying.
Executive
Management:
Directly
supervised a highly talented, executive agency reporting to the CEO of
the Pacific area. Reported directly to senior American and Korean executives
on classified tasks, but worked informally with all corporate executives
on an "on call" basis concerning policy issues and directives.
IT
Project
Management:
Worked
as Information Technology (IT) Project Manager and Subject Matter Expert
(SME) with AT&T involving staff duties in switch technology areas to
oversee use of Microsoft Project software by Project Managers (PMs). Taught
"Body of Knowledge" to onsite PMs in preparation for PMI certification
. Assisted PMs with setup and utilization of AT&T approved templates
and Microsoft software applications for Intranet reporting and daily use.
Funtional
Project
Management:
In
addition to supervising two active duty squadron deployments, theater employment,
and redeployments to/from Europe (involving total logistics and distribution
support); worked also as a Special Project Manager to two U.S. unified
commands during active duty recalls while active in the USAF Reserve. Assisted
senior level acquisition executive in building computerized data bases
to track contractors for the Technical Industrial Liaison Officer (TILO)
and a variety of other special purposes. Established UNIPLEX (Unix on NT
server network) computer linkage with USSOCOM for reporting statistical
information required by regulation and law. Assisted USCENTCOM in the establishment
of a Friendly Forces Coordination Center (F2C2 - formerly C3IC) and provided
C3I expertise to the Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Friendly Forces Coordination
Center.
Java
Development
&
Instruction:
Successfully
completed IBM's Java Instructor Boot Camp entitled Architecting and Developing
Applications Using VisualAge for Java, Version 3.0 which covered the teaching
core of the VisualAge integrated development environment (IDE). Developed
skills in all areas of OO and Java architecture, development, analysis,
design, programming and testing. Taught Server-side Programming Using VisualAge
for Java (IBM's OB78A class) to include Java applets, Enterprise Java Beans
(EJB), Common Gateway Interface (CGI) use by servlets and scriptlets, Java
APIs (Swing, AWT, GUI, JDBC, etc.) with IBM's eCommerce development methodology.
Technical
Writing:
More
than 25 years of technical writing experience using a variety of publication
tools and equipment. Wrote, edited, and/or authored Air Force histories,
monographs, special studies, talking papers, white papers, operational
plans, corollary allied documentation, command speeches, and proposals
during government service. Wrote, edited, and/or authored computer architecture
documents, detailed software designs, data base designs, instructional
manuals, web pages, hypertext documents, and other computer related documentation.
Technology
Advancement:
Optimized
through queuing, production planning and distribution models, the design
and development of curriculum flows for each business degree program at
Grambling State University. As a subject matter expert (SME) in logistics,
tested DCS/Logistics software for Walt Disney World for Y2K changes. Developed
several IS data bases for public and private sectors.
Training
&
Evaluation:
As
Chief of Training for three Air Force units, and later as Chief of Standardization
and Evaluation for an executive agency in the Pacific, revitalized training
and evaluation program for more than 458 managers and technicians. Analyzed
weaknesses in evaluation results, strengthened corresponding areas in training
and instituted improved, coordinated programs. Training time was reduced
from 45 days to 25 days and evaluation success rate improved by more than
20%.
Communications
Management:
Developed
criteria for interfacing and utilizing various kinds of equipment in a
unique capacity to include TEMPEST (secure) voice, radio, microwave, teletype,
facsimile, radar, telephone, television, and other signal processing equipment.
Conceived implementation milestones. Handled technical job training requiring
engineering or computer education and experience with no noticeable reduction
of service.
